menALIVE was founded in 2003 in Brisbane, Australia, by Robert Falzon, Peter Shakhovskoy, together with a small group of lay men.
It was established as a volunteer based National Catholic Ministry for men to bring them together, renew their faith, and encourage them to be an active force in the Church.
The initiative grew out of a desire to address the question, "Where are all the Men?" in Catholic congregations, and to "wake the sleeping giant" of lay men in the church.
Since its inception in 2003, menALIVE has held over 550 events for more than 30,000 men across Australia and New Zealand.
Through a variety of events and programs, men are invited to explore what God would want for their lives and how they might come to experience the fullness of life that God wants for us all.
menALIVE events and programs are aimed at creating an inclusive, non-judgemental and supportive environment where men can explore and renew their faith journeys and experienc personal encounter with Christ in the company of like-minded men.
menALIVE partners with men in local communities, parish priests and leadership to organise events all over Australia. Contact us if you'd like to have something happen in your local community.
